Good Morning CES Families,
Thank you for your understanding. Picture day for Spring and cap/gown photos, originally scheduled for tomorrow, will be rescheduled to a later date. We will send more information soon, including the new date and ordering packets that will come home with students.
We apologize for any inconvenience. Thank you, and have a wonderful day.

We wish everyone continued good health and look forward to seeing you then.
Due to unforeseen circumstances at the Ridge Movie Theater, today’s field trip schedule has been adjusted. The trip will now begin at the park and then return to the Ridge Movie Theater at 10:30 a.m.
Thank you for your patience, flexibility, and understanding. We appreciate your continued support.
Dear 5th Grade Parents and Families,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to inform you of a recent staffing change in our 5th grade math classroom. Our math teacher has resigned from their position, and we are actively working to secure a strong, highly qualified candidate to fill this role as quickly as possible. Ensuring consistent, high-quality instruction for our students remains a top priority.
During this transition, we are also aware of some gaps related to standards-based instruction. Please know that we are already taking action. Our team is reteaching key concepts, providing additional support, and offering opportunities for students to retest and demonstrate mastery so that every child has the opportunity to be successful despite the challenges we have faced. Additionally, administration is closely monitoring the gradebook and student progress to identify any areas of concern and will address the need for reassessments or additional support as needed to ensure students stay on track academically.
In the meantime, substitute teachers and support personnel have been stepping in to continue instruction. We greatly appreciate their efforts and dedication. However, we have experienced an increase in classroom disruptions within some of our 5th grade classes. A positive and focused learning environment is essential for student success. We kindly ask for your partnership by speaking with your child about the importance of respectful behavior, staying engaged, and making the most of instructional time each day.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this transition may cause. Please be assured that we are doing everything possible to secure a qualified teacher and to provide the continued support our students and staff need. Our commitment remains to deliver the best education possible for every child.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact the front office at any time. We value your support and partnership.
Thank you for your continued trust and collaboration.
Warm regards,
Christy Baggett
Principal
Chumuckla Elementary School
If you'd like, I can also format this onto school letterhead or make it email-friendly with a shorter subject line and tighter spacing for ParentSquare or email distribution.
Dear Fifth Grade Families,
Thank you for your patience and understanding while our regular teacher is out. Administration and a district representative are working with our substitute (who will be the more regular teacher until the classroom teacher returns) to support math instructional planning and facilitation through the teacher’s expected return on February 5th.
We understand this situation has been frustrating and apologize for any inconvenience. We will work to address any academic needs your student may have. Administration will monitor grades and consider additional ways to support students going forward.
If you have questions or concerns, please let us know.
Sincerely,
Christy Baggett

We can’t wait for a week full of reading, creativity, and school spirit!

This is Laura Looze, Assistant Principal of Chumuckla Elementary School, with an important message for parents and families. We conducted a lockdown drill at school this morning as part of our regular emergency drill process as required by state law. We know that drills can cause possible concerns for our students, but we believe it’s important for them to know exactly what to do in an emergency and these practice drills enhance their safety. Again, all students are safe, and this is simply a required lockdown drill. Thank you for your understanding and support.
Thank you to our incredible CES families for the overwhelming support of our Adopt-A-Teacher/Staff initiative! Because of your generosity, 39 teachers and staff members have already been adopted—we are so grateful for the love you’ve shown our CES team. ❤️
At this time, only 16 teachers and staff members remain available for adoption. If you are still looking for a meaningful way to spread holiday cheer, we would love your help in ensuring every member of our CES family feels appreciated this season.
For just $10, you can adopt a teacher or staff member and provide them with a catered lunch on December 17th.
Cash-only donations may be sent to the front office in a labeled envelope.
Thank you again for your continued support, generosity, and partnership. Together, you are helping make this a joyful and memorable holiday season for our CES staff. 🎄✨
