Today, Sunday, October 25, Convoy of Hope, Pace Assembly of God, and Santa Rosa County District Schools are partnering to distribute essential supplies to families impacted by Hurricane Isaias.

⏰ 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM (or until supplies run out)

As we prepare to welcome our students back to school, we recognize that the recent hurricane has brought challenges and uncertainty to many of our families. We sincerely hope that each of you is safe and recovering well.
We understand that recovery takes time and that some families may still be navigating difficult circumstances. Please know that your CES family is here to support you and your children as we return to our normal routines.
We encourage all families to review the important information in the graphic below regarding our return to school. If your family has experienced changes or needs additional assistance following the storm, please do not hesitate to reach out.

🪩💃 IT’S DISCO DANCE PARTY DAY! 🕺✨
CES families, our students are SO excited for our Back-to-School Bash this afternoon from 2:30–3:30 PM! We wanted to share a few important procedures so dismissal and pickup run as smoothly and safely as possible.
🎟️ Students attending the dance will receive a wristband before the end of the school day. At regular dismissal, dance students will be directed to a designated waiting area with staff while we complete our normal car and bus dismissal.
🪩 Once regular dismissal is complete, students will be checked in and escorted into the cafeteria for the dance.
🔒 For the safety and security of our students, only CES staff members and approved volunteers who are assisting with the event will be permitted inside the dance.
🚗 PICKUP: The dance ends promptly at 3:30 PM. Parents should use our regular parent pickup/car line to pick up their child. Please remain in your vehicle and follow the normal traffic pattern. Students will be released through parent pickup just like regular dismissal.
Please be patient with us as we work to get everyone safely to their vehicles. ❤️

Good afternoon, CES families. If your child rides Bus 415 home this afternoon, we want to make you aware that the bus was involved in a minor accident at Central School. There are no injuries reported on the bus, and all students are safe.
FHP has been contacted, and students are required to remain on the bus until FHP arrives and completes their investigation. This is standard protocol. Another bus is being sent to the scene to transport students once they are released.
Parents may meet their child at Central School; however, students cannot be released until FHP has completed its investigation. Please be aware that Bus 415 will be running later than normal this afternoon if you are not picking them up from Central.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the school. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

At Chumuckla Elementary, our priority is always to provide a **safe, supportive, and academically strong learning environment** for every student. After reviewing our current fourth-grade class sizes and available classroom space, we have made the decision to **open an additional fourth-grade classroom and redistribute students among our existing classes**.
We understand that a classroom change after the school year has begun is not ideal, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience or concern this may cause. However, we believe this adjustment is in the **best interest of our students**. Reducing class sizes will provide students with additional space, create a safer and more manageable classroom environment, and allow teachers greater opportunities to provide **individualized instruction, small-group support, and meaningful feedback**.
At this time, we do not yet know who the teacher of the new fourth-grade classroom will be. We will communicate that information with families as soon as the position is finalized. We do know the following:
* The new classroom will be a **stand-alone fourth-grade classroom**.
* Students in this classroom **will not transition between teachers during the school day**.
* The classroom will be located **upstairs**.
* Students will continue to receive instruction aligned with fourth-grade standards, curriculum, and schoolwide expectations.
### Student Placement Process
We would first like to give families the opportunity to **volunteer for their child to move into the new classroom**. If enough families volunteer, we will use those volunteers when creating the new class roster while also working to ensure an appropriate and balanced classroom.
If we do not receive enough volunteers, the remaining students needed to create appropriately sized classes will be selected through a **random lottery-style process**. Our goal is to make this process as fair and equitable as possible while creating balanced learning environments for all of our fourth-grade students.
We recognize that students have already begun building relationships with their teachers and classmates, and we do not take the decision to make changes lightly. While this transition may be difficult initially, we strongly believe that **smaller class sizes will benefit all of our fourth-grade students** by providing more individualized attention, improved classroom space, and increased opportunities for teachers to meet students' academic needs.
We appreciate your patience, flexibility, and understanding as we make this adjustment. Every decision we make is centered on what we believe will best support the safety, learning, and success of our students.
